You'll need to change the bellhousing and or cross shaft to the 69 thru 79 variety or use the stock slave like in the pic. 80 thru 91 cross shafts are being pushed by the slave as opposed to being pulled by a cable as in the earlier models.

And no you can not the lever because it is splined and it has a cup where the slave cylinder pushes into. Like Maddog said you will have to change the bell housing and/or cross shaft. Might be easier to just get the correct slave cylinder. |

Why dont i just cut that sucker(cross shaft) and weld the arm vertical and attach it to my cable |

kernal1984 wrote: Why dont i just cut that sucker(cross shaft) and weld the arm vertical and attach it to my cable that is a lot of pressure to be in such a small diameter to be twisting that im not sure a weld would hold very long no more area than it is to weld, plus it would probably have to be done on the inside of the bellhousing and if it did break it could tear up a lot of other stuff plus have to pull the motor off just to get to it i guess what im saying is with my luck i wouldnt try it but not saying wont work |

Personally I would use the OEM slave cylinder as it appears you have the room for it. A hydraulic clutch is way better than a cable style anyways. If i would have had the room on my Buggy i would have went that route. I ended up replaceing the side shift bell housing with a nose cone style and using the typical inline hydraulic slave cylinder. |

$48 at autozone a year ago, but after you think you have all the air out, crack the line with the foot off the pedal and take a small prybar and eeek the arm up and close the bleeder. You will get a little more air out and it and it will work great. |

This setup is far superior then any "pull" type, imo. The pedal push is a lot easier then the pull type as well. Use this, you will love it. No more binding, leaking, and bypassing slave cylinders! |
