At D and K last weekend I was talking to someone about the vanagon tranny with the acw code having a 4 spider super diff. They asked me if I had taken the tranny apart and had seen the diff or if I had just been told that it came with the super diff. I had not taken one apart, so tonight I took the bellhousing off and it does have a 4 spider.
Here is a pic of the non acw tranny

Good find!!! I was just sayin' that I don't count 'em till I've seen 'em. What's the ring and pinion ratio on that one.....looks strong! Nice meeting and talking to you guys at D & K. Hope to see you on the trails again soon.

I was great meeting you guys! We plan on going to LBL next year. We will let you guys know what weekend so maybe we can meet up and ride. The acw has a 29 teeth ring and a 6 tooth pinion so that is a 4.83 i believe. Did you get a chance to tear into your engine?

No, I haven't had time yet. I plan on working on it some this weekend. Hopefully it isn't too bad but it didn't sound that way.

Just let me know when you're gonna be at LBL and I'll try to make it if my buggy is running!

Hey Kevin it was great riding and hanging out with you guys. I pulled the engine out and could not find anything wrong with the clutch. So I got the spare tranny out and I'm going to put it in and see if it still does it. Not sure if thats a good thing or not!
