 Post subject: 5 rib wont go into 2nd

Cant get my trans to go all the way into 2nd. Tried the linkage but goes into 4th and reverse fine. I'm stumped, little help please.

Sounds like it's time for a teardown to see what is going on. If you ruled out the linkage, it's time to take it apart. :(

Do some research and tear it down you will need a jig or a old case to adjust shifting forks.

Not that it matters but you have a 6 rib.

Synchros are probably bad or it isn't going in to 2nd deep enough.
I have some on the shelf if you want to tackle it yourself.

Really need one of these to get the pinion nut off and on correctly though.

Well once I manage to get the 930's off and pull the tranny I think I am going to get it down to the guy Duane and Roy recomended.
