I am running 4 piston Wilwoods in the rear and its time to change pads. I bought some off eBay and they don’t stop my buggy worth a shit.

The pads I bought are Wilwood 150-8850K

The original pads, Wilwood 15E-6069, have about ¼” left and work well but if I’m going to spend $70 or more for brake pads I want the best I can get.

Any suggestions with part numbers would be great.

I done a lot of research and call willwood they hooked me up with some bad pads best brakes lve had they are bp10 for light weight cars with out a lot heat.

That’s what I bought. I put them in and it feels like I'm running single piston calipers. I could hardly lock up my 35” boggers in grass. But then again I don’t know what the weight of my buggy is. I don’t think it’s over 2000 lbs.

I’ll have to call them. Did they ask you the weight of your car?

I gave up with Wilwoods own after trying BP10, Poly E and even Poly A - and not being impressed with the pad wear, disc wear or the stopping power.
Spent a little more on either some Mintex 1144 (great pads) or Carbotech XP8's (stonking pads), it's more money up front but the Carbotechs are outlasting the wilwood pads by about 5 to 1 anyway

What to you mean by stonking pads?
I called Carbotech and they suggested CTW 7112-AX6. $129.99

Stonking = damned good, I'm not sure I'd go with the AX6 Bobcat's, I don't think they realise how much heat you can generate with turning brakes under power, tends to cook pads from the peak temp, although it depends on how big your discs are?

The XP8's work more than well enough when cold that they're fine even if you're just pottering about on a trail.

I just upgraded to wilwoods as well and I love them. Stop my 31x15.50’s on a dime. I also called them and they suggested a caliper and a pad set to suit my need in the woods. I’m not sure of the number on the pads but I will check when I get home. I am running the solid disk with OEM master cylinder. I do know that the pads cost 50.00 a set @ summit.

I'm into hill climbing with steering brakes and never racing. Top speed of my buggy is 55 mph with the gearing I have. They said the AX8 is for more for racing and high heat and the AX6 if better for cold stopping and also good for hot stopping. The fastest I go on the trails is about 35-40 if I’m lucky.

They'll do you fine looking at that, but in my opinion, XP8's are better hot, cold, and wear less to boot - so if the price difference isn't much...
1144's are quite similar to AX6 and a touch less pricey - might be ideal?
I know we use our brakes a lot harder than most of you guys but I swear by XP8's these days, great pads, you could turn around and go back down the hill in 5th gear then


P.S. - They're good, but they still don't work upside down.

I traded mine in at summit racing for the correct pads 15E-6069K. No extra cost and summit doesn’t know . When I have the money I would like to try the Carbotech pads. I never realized how many different pads you can get. I just thought a brake pad was a brake pad until I got Wilwood calipers.

The part # on my pads;150-8946k. Have about 6 rides on them a some road riding with no fronts and still like new. Just an FYI. Curious to know how others work as well.
