Need to get calipers for my front Brakes. I run GM brakes on the rear and need a smaller piston floating caliper for the front. I am leaning towards the Sentras unless some one has a better sugestion.

Sentra. I think its about '84 up to '89. They switched to vented rotors around '90. The caliper looks the same except the slot where it rides over the rotor is wider, and the pads can fall out after they get about half worn out when running them on a nonvented rotor. Find ya a Sentra in the boneyard with nonvented front rotors, and thats the one.

I may have a set of 2 piston Wilwood calipers for sale in the near future. I am going to go to 4 piston Saco's in the rear. The Wilwoods would work well for the front. They do use a 3/8" Rotor.

Ody, I was told I cannot use the stock universal VW ones that I have because the stick out to far on the tire side. I bought stock 5 lug VW front rotors and Brian Drew said I will need a floating caliper of some kind. If what you have would work I am game.
And thanks larry, that was the info I was looking for.

A 2 piston caliper applys force from both sides of the rotor and would be classified floating. A single piston caliper needs to be able to slide in its mount and would also be clasified as a floater. If the rotors you have are 3/8" then you can make these work as long as your rim offset allows room for them.

The way the rotor is set up it won't allow room for that style. Thanks anyways.

Whats the distance between the inside of the rotor and rim mounting flange? I will measure the Wilwood Calipers for fit.

1-3/8 and the lugs will occupy some of that as well.

Looks like my bone yard has these, gotta go pull them. Anyone mounted these or similar rotors on the front? I'd like to see some pictures of the mounts. I'll take rear pics if thats all that has been done. No since re-engineering the wheel from scratch, just a little at a time.
