 Post subject: 914 disc brakes

:? I have access to the disc brakes off a '71 914 and was wondering if they would fit anything VW and if so what years and what types---BJ or LP--IRS or SA.....Thanks guys

I have used the rear hat style rotors on the rear of my old buggy. If that helps at all

I agree. The rear rotors can be easily used for an inexpensive disc brake conversion. :wink:

I was in the shop saturday just messing around and decided to take the brakes off the rear trailing arm of the 914---got to wonderin' if the rotors and calipers would fit on a VW trailing arm--I'll get in the shop and take the VW arms apart and see what fits..if it does I'll just have to rebuild the calipers....thanx guys

The 914 front rotor bolts right onto a ball joint spindle. You would of course have to come up with a caliper mount.
