Post subject:  cutter brake

i had to repalce rear brake line today. now i can't get my cutter to hold. the top one holds a little but the bottom one is not working at all. i went through 2 quarts of brake fluid trying to bleed them off . but i still have nothing. any help would be greatly appricated

Did you bleed the cutting brake itself. You may need to take the caliper off and put a piece of wood or steel between the pads and then go through the bleeding process again except hold the caliper so its at the highest point of your brake system. If all else fails try a pressure bleeder that you either pump or connect an air hose to.

When you bleed the brakes you need to make sure the bleeder your opening is the highest point on the caliper most of the time you need to unbolt it.
