Birthday is tomorrow so thought I might spoil myself with buggy parts. My biggest issue right now is my brakes. The front locks up to easy and the pedal has way to much travel. I'm currently running sentra calipers on the rear and stock drums on the front. Powered by a stock master cylinder and pedal assembly. Planning on getting a wilwood pedal with dual 3/4 masters and adjustable balance bar built into the pedal. Anyone using this type of pedal? Any thoughts? Also wanting to add cutter brakes. Any issues with cnc I should know about? Anything else I could do to improve my braking?

I have front brakes with a separate pedal. They lock up the front tires too easy. And as soon as they do lock up, I loose ALLLLLLLL!!! steering! They are dangerous! Rotors or drums are just more dead weight to spin anyway. Put the rotors, calipers, ears, and m/c on a scale and I'm sure it's 35 lbs and $300. AND DON'T PRACTICE USING YER TRANS FER HARD STOPPING. THAT CAN PUT A MOTHER LOAD ON YOUR ENTIRE DRIVE TRAIN INCLUDING FLEXING THE CASE AND PINION BEARING. I geared down on the interstate in my type 3 once. I went from 70 mph to 2nd gear and now I have trouble going into 2nd because I think the bearing is bad. Gearing down on pavement put more pressure on the trans than accelerating ever could have. I know so much cuz I got so many years of tears. lol

been done now for a few weeks and so far I love the wilwood pedal setup with the balance bar. took a little time to set it and all ive had to test it in lately is mud. got it set so the back brakes lock up slightly before the fronts do. ive got about an 1 1/2" pedal travel and very easy braking effort. I think this may be the best money ive spent on the buggy.
