Bought empi bus to car stubs a year ago had a season of riding on them with no problems changed up my brakes this spring impacted the rotors off installed the new brakes put rotors back on used my ir 231 inpact tighten them up and walked out of the shop 8 hours later walked back into shop to find both nuts and threaded portion of stub laying on the floor broken off clean no rust in the break fresh break I have been running VW car stubs re drilled for bus for 10 years and have tightened them up with the same inpact and had no problems did I tighten them to tight? Or did I just buy more empi junk? What you think?

250# to 300#s. Buy Averys. They use stock German VW stubs and convert them over to 930s. Best your going to get anytime soon. Around $150.00 a pair.

I don't think Avery's makes a car to bus stub axle. The best would be to have someone drill a tap a bus bolt pattern into a car stub axle.

I have been running the car stubs re drilled to bus for years and I kept the ones I took out so will be running them again. Was just wondering if any one else had any trouble with the empi ones?

Well VW stubs back in for the weekend. Stopped in at Jim's VW and he had spoke with someone at empi and suggested to send back to empi and they would look at them and do some kind of hardness test. Who knows maybe something will come out of it. Most likely they will tell me I over tighten them but you never know unless you ask.

Update it took a little while but sent the stubs back to empi and then empi ended up giving a credit of 80 bucks to Jim's for the stubs. So got some buggy money to spend!
