My rt side cut brake blew out for no reason.The handle moves freely with NO resistance none like it is empty.But no fluid keakage.It will get hard with a few foot pedal pumps then hold and then the next handle movement ,NOTHING again.Is there a stuck valve or piston in there?Does it just need a very good bleed?Or is my caliper frozen?A month ago my rt caliper would just drag then lock up. I opened the bleeder and every thing went back to normal.

sounds like steering brake needs rebuilt.

I had the same problem. There similar to wheel cylinders. The cup seal in mine went bad and it wouldn't compress the fluid. The fluid would just blow by it.

But if the cup seal is bad shouldn't it leak?And also it will hold rock pressure if it is pumped up with the foot. There HAS to be somekind of check or shuttle valve.2 years old.If it were on a new car it would last 20 years. CALIFORNIA... I'm telling you!The ONLY thing California on the whole thing and it goes bad.Rings on a car last 1-4K miles. Mahle about 200 miles at the most!

There's a check valve that closes off the inlet port, it'll be knackered and not sealing, which is why it'll work against the footbrake pressure but not otherwise.
Had that problem time and time again with the CNC ones.
