Almost time to bleed my brakes, What is the correct or recommended procedure when using a turning brake? I ordered a power bleeder, it should be in Tuesday, hopefully that will make the job much easier but I have no idea what position the turning brake needs to be in while bleeding. The power bleeder will be your best friend. Just leave cutters in normal position. Watch your fluid level. That power bleeder will pull so fast you will suck the res. dry and put more air back in. Usually i power bleed system full, then I get in and I press the brake pedal which makes the cutters hard to push. Then I slowly let off the pedal as I am pushing both cutter brakes. You should feel them (the pedal and cutter levers) move in sync. This keeps all the air (if there is any left) headed for the caliper. From there do a normal brake bleed procedure only push your cutter handle all the way to the "floor" instead of pedal. I do each side two or three times that way as well. You will usually find a little air left somewhere. |

Looks like good info, I have a one handle turning brake but i should be able to fiqure it out from what you told me, I'll try it out this weekend and let you know how it works out. Thanks |
