ok i dont have cutter brakes in my rail yet but im going 2 buy one soon so i was wondering can i have the cutters and brakes in the same system if u dont get what im saying i mean can i have a brake pedal and my cutter brakes hooked together so i can control both brakes with the pedal and control them separtly with the cutters and if so how would you hook them up also can u do it with drum brakes

That's how they work. The cutter brake is an addition to the rear foot brake system.

you plumb 1 brake line from the master cylinder to the cutter, then 2 seperate lines going to each rear brake.
any yes you can do this with drum brakes

You are going to get a lot of different opinions.. I personally feel that CNC is the most popular. I am not saying they are the best.. just the most popular.

In addition to the brand, you will need to determine if you want a 2 handle brake or a single handle brake..

i know i want dual handel for no confusion and when i was looking at the cnc ones it says disk brakes

Yes... I do not think a steering brake will work with a Drum Brake. I think you will need to have the disc to actually stop the wheel. I also recommend a 4 piston caliper or you will not be able to stop the wheel.

I used Jamar but most people use the Willwood calipers

i going 2 end up putting front and rear disk but right now money is tight and im just finishing it up and wanna get it going for memorial day

I use to have drum brakes with my cutters and they worked fine. The only difference is when you run though water you loose most of you braking power for the foot and the cutters. Switched to Nissan Sentra single piston calipers and they work great and the water does not affect them. Keep in mind I have always ran a 29X12.50X15 tire. I will be changing over to 31X15.50X15 tire. However,I have seen several others running the same Nissan Sentra caliper with the larger tires though.

disc are always better but CUTTERS WILL!!!!! work with drums until you can afford the disk

i think they come in 2 different bore sizes the bigger bore would probably be better with the drum brakes

the 5/8 bore is for drum brakes and the 3/4 bore is for disk brakes
